Zero Tolerance For Bullying
New Leaf Therapy shares NSW Health's Zero Tolerance approach to violence in the workplace. Violence is defined as any incident in which an individual is abused, threatened or assaulted (including swearing, intimidation and stalking).
This initiative notes that all staff members at New Leaf Therapy have the right to work in a safe workplace. This extends to communications via phone and email. New Leaf staff members include psychologists, administrative assistants, accounts and payroll team, visiting practitioners, other NDIS personnel such as support coordinators and support workers, and labour hire/tradespeople. All our clients also have the right to visit and receive adequate health care in a therapeutic environment, free from risks to their personal safety and from any exposure to harm or acts of violence.
Any client, support person, representative, or visitor who is abusive towards New Leaf staff will be asked to leave the premises and all support will be terminated (for both face to face and telehealth sessions) indefinitely. Psychological services and duty of care will be withdrawn, the client will be discharged and transferred to another practitioner/medical professional where possible.
Please be advised security cameras/alarm systems are in use within our clinic for the safety of all.
Incident reports and/or investigations including "near misses" will be completed within our internal systems. All physical assault and/or serious threats (of assault) must be reported to police and/or other mandatory reporting agencies.

COVID-19
At New Leaf Therapy, we take your wellness and health very seriously. All New Leaf Therapy staff members are (at a minimum) triple vaccinated for COVID-19.
We operate under COVID safe policies and we are guided by advice provided by the Department of Health. We follow all evidence-based recommendations for best practice. We currently offer face-to-face in clinic and telehealth appointments. If there is an increase in risks including a spike or wave in COVID-19 cases, you may choose to return to sessions via telehealth where appropriate and relevant (including if you exhibit flu-like symptoms etc).
It is important to acknowledge that all parties must take precautions to minimise exposure and risk to COVID-19 and other illnesses, to keep everyone safe including yourself and your family, our practitioners and staff members, other clients and our communities.
To make sure we are all doing our best to maintain good health and well-being, please:

- Contact us to discuss options to change your appointment to telehealth (please note that this may not be possible or suitable for all presenting problems or clients).
Although face masks are no longer mandatory in NSW, we encourage you to wear one. Our staff will also wear a mask at your request at any stage.
